Tigers Eye is a mineral that belongs to the Quartz family with unique chatoyancy due to the fibrous content of Crocidolite (blue asbestos) that alters to Quartz. Iron gives it a golden brown colour. It is classed trigonal and has a hardness of 7 on the Mohs scale.
