Brainwave Entrainment
Your brain emits frequencies which are detectable with an EEG monitor. These frequencies range greatly depending on the state of consciousness that you are occupying at any given moment. The range of frequencies that come off the brain are divided into 4 main sections, delta, theta, alpha, beta. Delta the slowest range is in most cases dreamless sleep. Theta is the realm of mystical experiences, visions and dreams. Alpha is a relaxed meditative state, and Beta the fastest range is waking, problem solving consciousness.
Gaining control of these frequencies and learning to change them at will can be quite easy with the help of brainwave entrainment.
By using a simple progression of repeating sounds patterned at specific frequencies, one can create a guide for your brain to entrain to.
Any pattern of cycling light or sound has the power to entrain consciousness. Infact this is how shamanic drumming works to induce trance. Depending of the speed of the cycling, which is what we call the frequency, the state of consciousness will be of a corresponding nature. For example, if you have a low frequency, like say 1.5hz -you’ll have a slow delta state. If you instead have a high 30hz frequency, you’ll have a fast beta state.
With a decent map, you can create basically any state you wish to experience on this principle.
Certain states though can be harder for some to reach if they have experienced a trauma. You see when children are born, they are mostly in Delta – a slow frequency. As the child’s patterns start to form, their brainwaves start to speed up. When we meditate, usually what we are doing, is slowing down our brainwaves, and getting in touch with more profound states of consciousness that are actually common to us as children. As we reach these states, if there are any memories, perhaps from childhood of a trauma in one of these states, the trauma must be released before you can go further into the deeper states.
