Vesuvianite (Idocrase)

Vesuviante (Calcium Magnesium Aluminum Silicate Hydroxide) also known as idocrase (from the greek mixed form), are tetragonal crystals which are uncommon and fortunately produces some very nicely shaped crystals.  Vesuvianite forms as a result of contact metamorphism on impure limestones, and was originally only found on Mt.Vesuvius, hence its name.  This mineral can be used to promote patriotism and loyalty; it represents cooperative effort, and thus would be an appropriate gift for newlyweds, business associates, and friends.   Vesuvianite unlocks and stabilizes mental faculties, clearing negative thought patterns.  It helps you to recognize that which is important to advance along the spiritual path, serving to eliminate the feeling of imprisonment.  It provides assistance to inventors and discoverers.  Use vesuvianite to dispel anger, banish depression, and alleviate fear.  It aids personal security and helps you fearlessly face danger.
