Pink Tourmaline

Pink tourmaline is the mineral elbaite (Sodium Lithium Aluminum Boro-Silicate Hydroxide) belonging to the Tourmaline group. The deep pink specimens are sometimes known as rubellite. Elbaite is strongly pleochroic which means that a transparent crystal will appear darker when viewed down the long axis of the crystal. Tourmalines are piezoelectric which means that when a crystal is heated or compressed (or vibrated) a different electrical charge will form at opposite ends of the crystal (an electrical potential). Conversely if an electrical potential is applied to the crystal, it will vibrate. It has been used by shamen among the African, and Native American tribes to bring healing powers to the user and to provide protection from all dangers of the physical plane. African shamen use tourmaline to promote the awakening from the ‘dream of illusion’ and to promote experience of the self as part of the universal spirit.

Tourmaline stimulates balance between the left and right brain and enhances cooperative efforts in the areas of creativity, healing, and conceiving the ‘new’. It helps to release the ‘victim concept’ and maintains fortitude and laughter. This tourmaline maintains the connection between self and the ‘All That Is’.

Pink tourmaline stimulates the crown and heart chakras, synthesizing love and spirituality, while enhancing the higher aspects of the state of love. It promotes joy and peace during periods of growth and change, guiding the change towards the growth of humanity toward enlightenment. This stone helps you to trust in the power of love, and releases destructive tendencies. It can be used as an aphrodisiac, attracting love in the material and spiritual world, and would be a suitable gift for someone whom you desire to explore a relationship with.

Physically pink tourmaline assists dysfunctional endocrine activities, disorders of the heart, lungs, and skin.
