Moonstone
Moonstone contains aluminum, and is a member of the feldspar group of minerals. Moonstone’s characteristic shimmer is caused by the intergrowth of two different types of feldspar with different refractive indexes. The Romans began wearing it in jewelry in 100 A.D., it has always been considered sacred in India, and Europeans of the Middle Ages thought by looking into a moonstone, you would fall into a deep sleep that would tell the future. Moonstone opens us up to the feminine and is associated with sensitivity, intuition, clairvoyance, and self expression. It can benefit decision making, stimulates introspection, and eliminates overreaction. Moonstone reminds us of cycles, and the fact that "new beginnings" are necessary for growth. Moonstone is recommended for farmers, diplomats, artists, dancers, and young men. At the time of full moon or menstruation women should remove these stones.
Physically, moonstone may help all lower parts including digestion, the cleansing organs, and reproductive organs. It balances hormones, stimulates the pituitary, and aids nutrient assimilation. Moonstone can help water retention, menopause issues, menstrual problems, and is helpful when trying to conceive. It strengthens the skin, hair, and eyes. Moonstone may be of benefit during anaphylactic shock. Moonstone stimulates circulation. It is a powerful stone for use during childbirth.
