Snake

The snake represents powerful transformation and healing. You may have noticed the ancient symbol called the caduceus is made up of two snakes wrapped around a staff with a ball with wings at the top. The snakes represent dormant human potential that rests in the base of the spine until such a time as a kundalini awakening. When the process is initiated, the snake like masculine and feminine energies coil around each other and travel up the spine, activating all the energy centers as they pass through. The ball with wings is the actualization of these energies and the opening and activation of the pineal gland or third eye. Interesting that this is the symbol that has been adopted for health care almost universally, though most health care professionals haven’t a clue what it means!

The snake is a symbol of cosmic consciousness, wisdom and wholeness. Those with a snake totem will have a solid inner knowing of the equality of all creation. Snake people know that they can experience anything they want without resistance if they choose.

If you are feeling snake energy in your life, it’s time for a major awakening of one kind or another – what that means is CHANGES. The snake literally sheds its old skin to accommodate its growth. You may also want to meditate on the way that a snake moves without legs – it undulates. This motion allows the snake to avoid many obstacles that other animals often fall prey to and allows it to navigate changing terrains with stunning grace and ease.
