Crow

The crow signifies magick and great intelligence, being among the most intelligent of the bird kingdom. Crows have the ability to outwit many other creatures with their clever adaptations which they actually teach and pass on to each other quickly and naturally. In this way they have come to be known as tricksters.

If you have crow as your totem, personal integrity is the key to your success. This trickster nature inside you, will constantly test you, so if this is your totem, you must always be true to your path and your life’s mission. If one can withstand the tests that the crow offers, access to the magick of creation will be revealed.

The colour black is the colour of creation. Black – the void – is the source from which all things come. In ancient Roman mythology, it was said that crows were once white, as messengers of the sun god Apollo(akin to the planet mercury – hermes – thoth). The story goes that the crow one day brought Apollo some bad news and for this was turned black.
